Motor City Description

Motor City ( German title: Oldtimer ) is a simulation game for DOS , developed in 1995 by Austrian Max Design (nowadays known as Red Monkeys). The player manages a car in the European car industry at the end of the 19th century where cars are designed and sold. It was the last game that Max Design developed before being bought by the German Sunflowers .

It should take into account (among other things) the production of cars, research , company administration, component purchase, hiring / dismissal of staff, and the resumption of other companies in the industry. The game offers all kinds of statistics that can be consulted, such as the finances and records established by the company. The degree of planning and strategic choices determines whether the company will be able to stand. Even when starting up the company, choices must be made, such as the country in which the company will settle - something that has a major influence on the course of the game, as it uses historical data such as (important) political and economic Events.

When designing a car, all kinds of features can be chosen (each with a price tag), such as size, type of internal combustion engine and type of chassis . These choices determine how long it takes to build a car and when it will be ready for sale .

The game also contains a historical overview of the history of the car with 3D rendered images. At the beginning of the 20th century , the development of the racing car begins with the ability to drive yourself: the game includes the ability to drive in a built-in racing car.
